This small piece began as a test surface for layering oil glazed over casein. I love to work with the casein. I like it’s organic nature and the smooth feel of the paint. Each type of paint has a uniqueness to the way it feels as you manipulate it with a brush or other tool. It’s part of the hook that draws you into the process. Making art is really all about process for the artist, otherwise you would never bother. It’s such a lot of inconvenience being an artist. Always in your own head, loosing track of time, succumbing to the idea that nothing is as important as the image your wrestling with, all the while the world whirls by, the time flies.
