This is the first weaving I created on a back strap loom in Oaxaca. I was taught by a Zapotec woman in the mountains of Oaxaca. When I came home I used fake hair from my bridal makeup and hair kit and braided it with pink and yellow rope. Hair extensions are an important part of culture and this hair is blonde and brown showing my mixed race in the work.
