The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya, which this image represents, is said to “liberate upon seeing.” Stupas are sacred monuments that hold the relics of venerated teachers and serve as places of peace and harmony for the communities of which they are a part. The Great Stupa was built as a memorial for Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder of Shambhala International and Naropa University. He died in 1987. It is located at the Drala Mountain Center, an hour west of Fort Collins.
