Took photo of the wee valley across the highway from Eagle Valley Campground on Highway #1 near the Maple Creek junction a couple years before creating painting. Liked this segment of it... A year later heavy rains in the Cypress Hills caused massive flooding in Maple Creek...the dam at the back of Eagle Valley campground was full and the whole campground filled so that only the tops of the trees were above water. The highway washed out and had to be rebuilt. Later, when the water had dissipated I checked...much of the landscape was changed but the rock was still there!!
