This print is an image of my son around age three. I love how curious he was at this young age looking for the mysteries of the universe in the petals of a flower (and maybe they are).
These artworks are serigraphs, a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a paper, except in areas covered with a blocking stencil. A squeegee is pulled across the screen to fill the open holes with ink. When the screen is pressed down, the wet ink touches the paper and transfers the ink. Printing each color separately, it took fourteen screen prints to create one multicolored image.
