This work is part of a series connected to the environment, the human condition and to my bigger global inquiry about the interconnectedness of all things. Ginkgo leaves are stand ins for the conversation in my head that does not go away. Precarious lines of graphite and ink along with handmade Japanese paper were part of the process. The last time I saw my family in Japan was right before Covid. Ginkgo leaves rained gold on the streets and sidewalks. Seriously breath taking. I used actual leaves I brought back for the pattern of the leaf shape in this work.
