I imagine a proud and talented rooster in a charming Northern town with the late summer dusk descending on his performance.

This is part of my "Rooster" Series. Seeing the rooster in a dramatic context gives him a dignity and depth of character that might not occur to us otherwise. I love everything about painting roosters, especially layering their their fluffy, luminous feathers.
