It was an exciting challenge for me, being accustomed to bright bold colors in my work, to embrace the subtle grey light key on this overcast day.
Having a table for one in this painting feels not lonely, but like a great luxury. It was exciting to embrace the subtle gray light key of this overcast day, as I paint with bright bold colors in most of my work. -- This is part of my "Belmont" series: paintings of a bamboo fence and the birds who hang out there in the town of Belmont on the South coast of Jamaica.
