This is a purely abstract piece of a soft muted tones juxtaposed with vibrant orange and hints of green. Its sweeping lines and shapes evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity, but the calmer background balances the energy and creates visual tension. The green, which was added later in the painting, was purely an addition that I thought would compliment the other colors and add a playfulness to the work. The shape it created looked like an olive in a drink, and so that’s where the name came from.
