Abstract painting of both deliberate and freely applied earthy tones with touches of vibrant color. There is an interplay of geometric shapes, some with defined edges, and others more fluid. Free-flowing lines connect the shapes to each other, creating both a stimulating energy of balance and rhythm while moving ones eye through the painting. As is often the case with my work, I get intuitive prompts as I work, and it guides the direction of the painting. In this case, I began to feel and hear the energy of a big city and so that became the inspiration of where to take each painting stroke and choice.
