This is an abstract painting I did from a photograph I saw on line. It is my interpretation of the Atacama Desert in the Spring. There are bold fuchsia and orange hues sitting among a muted, almost desolate background which creates a striking contrast and draws the eye through the landscape with the floral patterns that weave through the canvas. The juxtaposition of lively colors with earthy tones evokes a sense of resilience and hope - life finding a way in the harshest of conditions. The brushwork is expressive, suggesting spontaneity and energy.
