This painting depicts a scene from a boat ride that I almost missed. The Chief of Police in Elizabeth City had offered to take me out to get some photos for my paintings, but on the scheduled date there was a prison break and I was sure the trip would get canceled. Luckily the inmate was quickly apprehended and the boat ride took place as scheduled.
I paint each of my pieces primarily using a palette knife. This painting is acrylic on canvas. I personally stretch each of my canvases by hand. It is a gallery wrapped canvas with the 1 1/2″ deep edges painting dark. The wire hanger at the back makes the piece easy to hang, and it hangs flush with the wall. No framing is necessary.
