Feeling pensive one day in Italy, while resting my broken and casted right wrist, I decided to relearn to write with my left hand. (It was barely legible, I might add…lol)!
I stuck two pieces of paper together and, literally, began to scratch and scribble and finger paint my thoughts and expressions down quickly!
Would YOU trade your Freedom for your creative life! As for me, I don’t think anything or anyone could prevent me from splashing paint! Not even breaking a bone!
"As you can see, I painted a series of work that included poetry, then, after breaking my arm, I painted “WOULD YOU TRADE YOUR FREEDOM?”
While living in Italy, in 2003, my family and I had been watching the movie “Cocktail”, with Tom Cruise. Feeling energized and silly, I sailed across the tiled floor in my stockinged feet, as I pretended to strum my Air Guitar.
Suddenly, my feet swept out from under me, and I crashed onto our stone fireplace, feeling my arm break! (Painful!)
Thereafter, for 3 months, I sported a heavy plaster cast…and learned to write and paint with my left hand…erratically, I might add."
