Deep, glittering blue and ripples of red contrast with geometric squares of red, orange and gold. The shimmering pool of blue is made by allowing several colors of glass to mix and flow while molten, burbling across a horizontal surface in the kiln and creating delightful nebula-esque clouds.
Glass elements are hand-cut and stacked, heated to 1500°F in a brick kiln, shaped with successively finer grits of diamonds on a lapidary wheel, then heated again for a soft but square edge. The glass stands off from the wall 1.25" on clear acrylic spacers with a single hole for hanging.
