I finished off Zena today and had the realization that she’s my last painting I will finish in 2018. Zena is one of those paintings that came together quickly in just a couple of “sittings”, and seemed to immediately take on her own personality. I love her soft green background against her rusty feathers and my favourite part is the bits of teal that peek through her multiple layers. I’m happy to have finished the year off with such a positive piece (that also just makes me smile ).
