The elements of fate is another version is my (hamster) Wheel of Fortune. A birdie, I think it was a Robin, dropped by and made a comment about fate and choice. It was very insightful. But to add elucidation, I believe that all being follow a predetermined script. Now as an actor can improvise and a director can add or subtract perspectives and meaning, so can we. This is for the eye (I) inside that watches. However, nothing...I mean nothing can change the ending. So the purpose? The same with watching a good movie... the experience of the story. Your goal, be the best main character that tackles every conflict/problem in your story that'll make your watcher and judge proud. If it's a superb story, and you are an awesome character, maybe you'll get a sequel. Even though I have sequels.
