I created this portrait of Puerto Rican singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. I admire her because she came from “the ‘hood’” and became who she is now. Even though we fall down sometimes as human beings, the moments when we get back up should be celebrated. I included the Black couple in the lower left corner to honor the Black Lives Matter movement. The skeleton couple represent my belief that marriage should last until death. I included the wolf, because I identify with the wolf’s ability to survive in the struggle for survival through lots of dark nights.
