"I was painting this image around the time the shooting happened and some one in my cell pointed out that it made him think of what was going on. I paused and looked at the photo I was using and was a bit overwhelmed. What people have gone through the last few years is rough and more so for kids. Here's the image of three children outdoors but having to wear masks. They're holding a flag which I think represents the hope and promise they have, but the flag looks like it's at half-mast which, to me, speaks of their suffering from isolation, hate and, as we've seen once again, the fear they must feel just going to school! It's just too much! For them and everybody else. Enough is enough!
