- A 20’s Woodstock
The one to the left of it is a 1922 Buik. Most of the ones in the background are just generalized body styles of cars throughout the 20’s. Although I did use a few from reference pics, there are a couple of Fords and a couple of Cadillacs.
The story is: It started out as a concert in a field for a modest crowd, then moved and more people started showing up. Between sets a local group was granted permission to play a few of their songs onstage, then another group. Soon, there were singers, dancers, magic acts… it turned into a “Woodstock.”
I want to give credit for my inspiration, just on the remote chance that someone out there seeing this cares. The idea came from a picture in “The Life History of the United States.” Vol 10, p 79, of a traffic jam near a large field. When I saw that, I immediately thought of a crowd watching a concert in the field.
This picture takes place in the summer of 1928 (That’s the latest model year of all the cars pictures.) The black cat symbolizes the bad luck the country will face in the following years of the Great Depression. Before 1929 however, it was party time. Prohibition made people want to drink all the more, so I wanted to picture some alcohol fairly prominently. Consequently, I think I’ll title it “A 20’s Woodstock.”

Just for fun, try and find these 5 things: a bear, a Mortician/Vampire looking woman, and the back of a naked woman, the little old blind man and of course, Uncle Creepy. Also, if you look really closely, I put the top of his head on a bottle of booze.
