“When I saw this black/white drawing of a woman with her afro, I was drawn to the peaceful look of her face. She has that all important quiet strength that we artists sometimes struggle to bring about in our work. She also reminded me of one of my favorite people in Angela Davis. Doing this in acrylic was a must when I first saw the graphite version.”
