Wahkeena is a small composition taken from the very large Wahkeena Falls. There are several waterfalls close together that plunge into the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. You might recognize the most famous, Multnomah Falls, which I have enjoyed painted as well. The entire area is beautiful beyond belief. The power of the cascading water glimpsed in the upper background of the painting also offers smaller, more intimate and peaceful areas such as the scene in this painting.
Wahkeena is painted with transparent watercolor and acrylic-used-as-watercolor on watercolor canvas. The canvas is attached to stretcher bars and is sealed with varnish - therefore to be framed without glass or mat. The stated price does not include framing. This piece is currently un-framed and waiting for your decor and personal framing taste. Custom framing is available with the cost added to the price of the artwork. Please inquire.
