Spring-fed Oak Creek makes its way down through Oak Creek Canyon, creating little islands in the stream here and there – this little gem of a pool and series of small waterfalls is flowing through one such island and cascading into the main creek, where it will flow through Sedona and onward until it empties into the Verde River. Its enchanting splashes, pools and swift passage are my painting delight!

Yes, I did see this Blue Heron sailing up the creek and quickly took the picture. In my painting I have him/her gliding in the opposite direction - artistic license!
