This painting of Max was a commission for his family who was missing him terribly. When I was preparing to paint him I sought information about his personality - traits with which I hoped to imbue the panting. During one of those conversations, I mentioned that I "saw" the painting in blues and lavenders and was told that that was truly his "aura". It is my hope that his sweet and wise soul shines through the layers of paint for his family.
