A solitary couple immersed in their reading material, hot beverages close at hand…all the while a counterpoint to the vast expanse of sand and ocean.
Bundled up and quietly settled into their folding chairs, motionless, this couple did not acknowledge any other presence on the beach that morning. I was drawn to the vivid contrast between their mass and the flat sandy plain, their colourful garb and the monochromatic beach, and lastly, the dichotomy between the micro and macrocosm of man and nature.
