During the stillness of the pandemic, my mother told me that her grandchildren had given her a renewed sense of life. I understood immediately — children pulse with vitality. They radiate energy, even in the quietest rooms.
At the same time, I am still in awe of the fact that I grew a life inside of me — a literal act of creation.
This mixed media collage began from that dual awareness. The figure sprouts leaves and vines, caught mid-becoming.
The work feels alive because it holds the wild vitality of children, the invisible labor of creation, and the layered beauty of growth.
