Every painting has a different story whether it’s a visual experience or animals interacting. This piece’s inspiration is drawn from the colors of South West Utah and the mythical Coyote. I knew of a story told by Shoshone elders how the Coyote steals fire. I read that the long cold winters brought fear to the people and many didn’t survive. A Coyote stole fire from the Fire Beings on the mountain tops and brought it down to them to help them survive and keep warm all winter. I think they look like an intelligent creature.
