Gerald Winter, the pre-eminent contemporary beadwork artist, created this magnificent beadwork "roll" as his own unique take and creativity, yet it is inspired by, and modeled after the 1066 Bayeux Tapestry at the Bayeux Museum in France. With approx. 86 panels,
at 240 square inches each, the dimensions are approx. 144 feet long . Each panel depicts a scene and the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, led by William, Duke of Normandy challenging Harold II, King of England, and culminating in the Battle of Hastings. Please stay tuned for our Miami exhibit this December 2024! This astounding hand- beaded tapestry of Winter's with a collection of his beaded artwork.
