Have you ever Googled yourself? A few years ago, I did and found out that the first ever abstract painting I did as a young teen (circa 1973) is now in the University of Guelph archives! The painting was chosen to tour Canada in a student exhibition and was never returned. Thankfully we have now transitioned to the digital age and they sent me a digital image of my painting. It was exactly as I remembered it and provided perfect inspiration for the colour washes in Winter Light 1 and 2. I used ink on fabric for the first time with this piece. Another transition. This piece was chosen for the SAQA Atlantic juried "Transitions" exhibit which toured NS and NB in 2018-2019.
