I would describe this painting as moody. I don't usually paint with these colors, but I love how the layers of plum and indigo give depth to the darkness. And below the inky sky, a hazy band of purples and greenish-gold push through. I couldn't resist adding the drips; it gives the painting a trace of movement. The whole piece has a sense of mystery and tension.
