My English friend asked for more abstraction. When I visited Africa in 2015 I took many photos of elephant herds and was about to delete this one image.
"What was a green leaf doing there?" The photo instructor had lectured: "Never delete an image from our cameras!" I looked closer and it was a Green Bee Eater. We saw Violet throated Bee Eaters but not the colourful tiny Green Bee Eater.
When I finished painting the composition, I realized that you saw the bird, but not the elephant, flipping back and forth.
Very few see both right away. If you saw it, you see the world a little differently.
