Documentation of a performance piece, Cuba, Havana
A performance piece as part of a series of interventions taking place throughout Havana during the 8th Havana Biennial in Cuba. The boats were ripped from the pages of the novel Cecilia Valdés, written by the Cuban author Cirillo Villaverde published in 1892. This piece was documented in photography and video. The “Malecon” is the last barrier before the Atlantic. The performance took place during one afternoon for six hours I sat on the Malecon folding my boats as people passed by and tossing them from the rocks it into the sea.
