My Abjad project revitalises the forgotten relationship between Arabic letters and numbers, here expressed through geometry, which is number unfolding in space. The 28 pieces included in this coffret, each representing one of the 28 Arabic letters, were made to be reproduced in a large, limited edition artist book (The Book of Abjad). These original artworks were then gathered as loose leaves in a bespoke coffret to make an one-off art piece, between book and box.
