SERIES STATEMENT:
In this series, "Motion Hierarchies," I consider a particle of light undergoing simultaneous phase transitions within indefinite time. In this space, exists every possible outcome. These ideas are represented in physics by the concept of phase space.
I see these pieces as windows into suspended time, where discrete moments unfold to reveal the directing principles, or rules that govern its system. Through this lens, I consider the role that chance and uncertainty play in how we shape our lives, and consequently, the lives of others. Whether it be geographical, relational, physical, mental or emotional space..etc, each is a site of indefinite motion awaiting our series of choices —each to declare fresh pathways for how each of our stories unfold to mold, punctuate, and give shape to the constantly evolving narrative of our shared time in space.
