Rather than showing a fixed likeness, this self-portrait reflects how identity is re-negotiated after stroke. The face is opened into soft, shifting forms, shaped by altered sensation, scans, and clinical explanation. Parts feel present while others recede or change. The painting speaks to a self that is lived differently, understood through ongoing bodily experience rather than visual certainty.
