Conservé dans un cartable (recouvert de papier imitation bois brun, 40 x 50 cm, marqué II) contenant une sélection d'oeuvres de diverses époques, choix fait par le peintre au moment où il a fermé son atelier de la rue du Port, vers 1965.
Authentifié par Béatrice Aubert-Lecoultre, historienne de l'art, fille de l'artiste.
