The quilt design is inspired by Victorian era crazy patchwork quilts, a style which lends itself to a unique arrangement of units taken from multiple leaves. Color shifts, veining and other surface details of the leaves suggest textiles, while maintaining their unique botanical identities. Thread is used to add embroidered elements from that era, much like the quilts they are referencing.
