The quilt design is inspired by the wide range of color Franklinia leaves exhibit in the fall. A waffle grid requires 5 shades of color to create the dimensional illusion, which Franklinia leaves are able to accomplish within just their species. Leaf interior color variation and pronounced veining add additional interest and depth.
