These individual pieces are combined together to create a unified artwork. Each ceramic paddle piece has its own unique lovely highly textured surface and it's own personality. A discreet loop is secured at the top of the knotted four plait rope enabling each sculpture to be hung on a small pin nail at top of the board. The soft white tones with some wood grain coming through are a light and uplifting backdrop to highlight the detailed hangistone paddles.

If you have ever been part of a small quality tight knit group who you know have your back, you can probably relate. This artwork is symbolic of that bond and friendship with those close woman friends of mine, the sisters you choose. You know the ones, they laugh with you when you are being ridiculous and are right by your side when you need them the most.
