La Familia - Brocha (center left) by Jimmy Longoria Image: Part of a four panel mural portraying dancers articulating the entire space. The mural is created as the foundation element for an animation to be used as backdrop to a ballet called La Brocha (The Brush). You see the dancers interconnected in a turn full of energy and vitality. It is intended to represent all of the folkloric dances amalgamated into a classical ballet interpretation. My purpose as a radical Chicano Artist is to employ the cultural legacy of all Hispanic and Indigenous peoples and fabricate a future aesthetic distinctly Americano.
