Ancient Rings 82 radiates with a calm vitality, where structure meets spirit through light and color. Set within a canvas of ivory rings, this vessel carries a pattern of hand-cut rectangular inlays in amber and shades of green, each framed in white and connected by subtle gray pathways.

The greens move across the form like leaves in shifting light, grounding the piece in nature while suggesting quiet renewal. Amber accents glow warmly beside them, infusing the surface with a golden warmth that recalls sunlit stone or ancient resin. The gray connections offer a gentle counterpoint, giving the composition cohesion and rhythm.

Every angle reveals a shifting composition—each element precisely placed within the expanding vessel form. The slight outward flare allows light to collect beneath and rise through the glass, animating the surface with quiet energy.

As part of the Ancient Rings series, this piece continues Jim Scheller’s exploration of memory, transformation, and the harmony of precision and play. In Ancient Rings 82, the vessel becomes not only an object of form, but a language—spoken through light, color, and the enduring resonance of greens.
