One of a matching pair of sixth plate "copy" dags: Each daguerreotype is unique, so to make a copy, it was necessary to photograph the original, making a second "copy."
Whitehurst had galleries in Richmond, Lynchburg, and Petersburg as well as DC, NY and Baltimore.
