Take Five is one of the best known jazz standards. Written by Paul Desmond, it is famously associated with Dave Brubeck who recorded it with his Quartet at Columbia Records in NYC in 1955. With the unusual and intriguing rhythm of five beats to the bar, it was one of the first jazz pieces written with a time signature other than 4/4 or 3/4. It is highly syncopated and fun.
