I am inspired and intrigued by the architecture of ancient places, and the arches and alleyways of Jerusalem's Old City capture one's imagination. The painting is loosely based on my many memories of this and other cities, with architectural elements reconfigured into a composition that suggests perspective without being specific. The palette of pinks and blues suggests the famous pink stones of Jerusalem and the crystal clear blue of the Mediterranean sky. Subtle paper collage and drawn marks add textural interest to the surface .
