I have sat with your piece for awhile now and, in my heart, it feels complete. Since you last saw it, I felt called to add subtle, but powerful points of punctuation. In other words, I snuck in a little periwinkle, light turquoise, dark turquoise and hunter green to compliment and balance the yellow. I felt this piece needed a sophisticated element of surprise...something you don't notice right away, but come to deeply appreciate. These points of punctuation are exactly that and they are also a nod to the desert.
One of the things I love most about this piece is the waterfall effect of the bright blue. It leaves me with a calming sense of movement...the essence of peaceful progress in one's life. Those were the first coats I put on. To be sure not to damper that essence, I have been mindful to let this piece flow in that direction. I have also been mindful to ensure space and openness that invites pause and presence in the midst of the movement. In general, I think that might be one thing I love most about this piece...it holds the paradox of presence and progress. It makes me want to breathe deeply, standing still AND get to work instantly on important projects!
And I truly cannot wait to see this piece installed as, with the proper lighting and setting, I know it will add an entirely new and enriched depth to it!
