- Rocket Ship
- Oil On Canvas
- 72 x 60 in
- Signature: This painting is part of the permanent museum collections of the North Dakota State Museum. It is to be used in upcoming exhibits about artists, women forging a path, and current contemporary inspiration. In addition, I have been asked to speak at the museum about this painting to young students from around the state. I am excited as this is one of my strong suits, speaking and verbalizing. Rocket Ship transcends the viewer to another world. I created it from a place where no dream is too big, and art transports you to a realm that you can visualize you as you wish to see. I also feel as female artists we have to fly to the moon and back, and circle around men to just be on the same playing field as them.

Here is a BLOG I did on a women artist I love and how I came up with the collection you around it including the painting you liked “Beyond the Visible,” it also includes some of the other paintings I sent you and the meaning behind them! I love this painting too has a special place in my heart!
As for the painting "Rocket ship," Dad loves this one I love it too. This has a little deeper or special meaning to me! I even have it hanging up in my studio right now so I can check it out all the time! However you do what is best for the museum! The meaning behind it....long story but happy to share. I want to get lost in my work and have take me to another place. This painting I hope is like a Rocketship for you as the viewer and transcends you to another world place as well- like your on a ROCKET SHIP. I'm a little bit of an empath and fragile heart for this world at time. This is why I need to be painting like breathing... I pray my work transforms me into another world like a rocket ship all the time and for the views. It is how I process my emotions ...and I also feel as female artists we have to fly to the moon and back and circle around men to just be on the same playing field as them. We have a long ways to go in the art world still before it is fare. I talk about this in the blog I mentioned above....great theme for you to also do at the museum. However toen more thing the women artist Kesha she is a singer came out with this album "Spaceship", and I listened to it in respect non-stop in the studio while painting this one and others. It was a woman-empowered alum, and I love how these go hand in hand her work inspired my work and I hope my work inspired others and so on. (side note you would love her song "Praying" on that alum so emotional) listen I cried and painted to this many times! In another song she mentions rocket ship so that's why I titled it that. The song Rainbows also is like this painting all the colors of the rainbow! listen long story but wanted to give you a little behind this painting!
