I used to work in adventure travel as a guide and a trip designer. I travelled a lot during that time, and had the privilege of seeing some beautiful landscapes. The memories of these places – colors, shapes, smells, sounds – still serve as fodder for my work. I’m also still in touch with my colleagues from those days. One of them shared with me a photo of a valley in Spain that was so beautiful. The colors, shapes and lines between rock, grass, trees and sky really struck me. That photo was the jumping off point for a group of paintings that explore color, space and energy. This image was the perfect excuse to put some paint on canvas. This is one of those paintings.

This is an original oil and acrylic painting, signed on the front and hand labeled on the back by the artist. It is painted on cotton canvas stretched on wood stretcher bars. The canvas is gallery wrapped, meaning that the sides are smooth and painted white. It is 1.5 inch thick, wired in the back and ready to hang.
