When I start a painting I start with random paper collage as a meditative process to get into my flow. Then I slowly build my painting by adding layers of paint and marks and after some time I start to see lines, images and most often eyes, appear in the paint. I love loose lines, muddy colors and grunge. This lady just appeared in the marks and she just wanted to be found. I often keep the raw edges created by the paper collage. It gives the piece that extra soul.
I love framing my work on paper, “floating” in a box frame without glass. “Find me” is framed in a white box frame ready to hang.
