Painted en plein air at Quoddy Head State Park, Lubec, ME, looking out over Gulliver's Hole. As I painted, I heard faint sounds of drumming and singing drifting downwind toward me from High Ledge. Not long afterwards a couple of young Native Americans stopped by my easel to talk. We commented appreciatively on the beauty of each others' creative responses to the wonders of Maine's dramatic coastline. It was a magical afternoon.
