The coloring of this Blue Mandarinfish captured me. I also loved the arc of its body moving through the water. Unlike most blue animals, the blue mandarin fish is one of only two known species that can produce its own blue color. It does this through a structural color mechanism where its skin's keratin protein structure reflects and amplifies blue light.
