Behind my grandmother’s house, groves of Queen Anne’s lace swayed in the fields, their delicate crowns rising taller than my small frame. I would wander through that sea of wildflowers, imagining myself in a faraway realm. The wind whispered through the grasses, carrying the earthy perfume of soil and greenery—a sanctuary of sound and scent etched into my memory.
